Another year, another Hardest Shot title for Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara. The 6-9 Chara won the event for the fourth straight year, setting a new NHL record with a 105.9 miles-per-hour shot, beating his old mark of 105.6. Bruins rookie Tyler Seguin also participated in the competition, topping out with a 97.1 mph shot.

Meanwhile, Tim Thomas competed in the Fastest Skater competition with Hurricanes goalie Cam Ward,, much to the delight of the fans in attendance (the All-Star festivities are in Carolina this year). Unfortunately for Thomas, he slipped and hit the ice turning the corner and did not win.
