Report: Meriweather Was The Gunman In Florida Shooting

Brandon Meriweather (Photo by Elsa/Getty Images)

According to a report on ProFootballTalk.com (Mike Florio was citing Dino Costa of Sirius Mad Dog radio), Brandon Meriweather was indeed the gunman in the shooting at a Florida party in February. Costa said he was citing an “impeccable source” for the report.

Costa also said that there’s talk the two victims in the shooting aren’t alive anymore. Yes, that’s the same two victims who reportedly hired a lawyer to pursue a case against Meriweather.

Analysis

A lot of this is just random reports of he said, she said, but I definitely didn’t expect to hear reports that the two victims are now dead. While I don’t think it’s fair to point the finger at Meriweather right away, this is rather alarming news. Whether or not there’s football next season, I wouldn’t be surprised if Bill Belichick moves on from Meriweather, whether by trade or a flat-out drop.

He may have been at the wrong place at the wrong time, but how many times do you have to be caught in those situations before you become THE situation?
