2011 New England Patriots Schedule Released

Tom Brady of the New England Patriots (midwestsportsfans.com)

While the 2011 NFL season may not be played because of the ongoing NFL lockout,  fans did have something to look forward to last Tuesday.

The New England Patriots will open the year down in Miami on the big stage of Monday Night Football on ESPN.  While the Dolphins were a mediocre (7-9) last year, playing them down in Miami has been a problem in the past for Tom Brady and the squad should not take them lightly.

The rest of the schedule is as follows:

Week 1 Monday, Sept. 12
Patriots at Dolphins

Week 2 Sunday, Sept. 18
Chargers at Patriots)

Week 3 Sunday, Sept. 25

Patriots at Bills

Week 4 Sunday, Oct. 2

Week 5 Sunday, Oct. 9
Jets at Patriots

Week 6 Sunday, Oct. 16
Cowboys at Patriots

Week 7
BYE

Week 8 Sunday, Oct. 30

Week 9 Sunday, Nov. 6
Giants at Patriots

Week 10 Sunday, Nov. 13
Patriots at Jets

Week 11 Monday, Nov. 21
Chiefs at Patriots

Week 12 Sunday, Nov. 27
Patriots at Eagles

Week 13 Sunday, Dec. 4
Colts at Patriots

Week 14 Sunday, Dec. 11
Patriots at Redskins

Week 15 Sunday, Dec. 18
Patriots at Broncos

Week 16 Saturday, Dec. 24

Week 17 Sunday, Jan. 1

Projections:

While everyone seems to hate doing win/loss projections this early in the year, I love it!  I see the Patriots going 5-1 before their bye week with the only loss going against the Raiders.  Wait….huh?  The Raiders?  Don’t think I’m going crazy just yet.

The Raiders are an up-and-coming team with a fantastic running game and a decent defense. They also have some of the greatest fans in all of sports that can wear down opponents with their attire alone. Accompany that with the Jets visiting the Patriots a week later, and we are looking at a good old fashion trap game, my friends.

Over the final ten games I see the Patriots going 7-3 for an overall record of 12-4 and another AFC East crown.

Of course, if a labor agreement cannot be reached, the fans will go 0-16.

  1. Agree with the Raiders prediction, Derek. For whatever reason, feels like the Cleve game from this year all over again. That is, as you say, if we have a season.
