The Red Sox-Yankees rivalry runs so deep, it has now made its way down to the Single-A level.
The Charleston RiverDogs (NYY) beat the Greenville Drive (BOS) 6-2, but the real story was the brawl that ensued after the second pitch of the game.
Greenville starter Miguel Celestino plunked Slade Heathcott (a hot Yankees prospect) in the shoulder, sparking the brawl. Check out the video for details:
Heathcott and reliever Kelvin Perez were ejected for the RiverDogs, while catcher Christian Vazquez and reliever Garett Rau were ejected for the Drive, according to Live5News.com.
My guess is that the catcher mentioned something about Heathcott’s troubled past.
