Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has criticized fans in New England before for being too quiet at games and not providing the home field advantage the Pats are looking for. Well this season he’s trying a new approach while addressing the fans for the season opener and I think Patriot nation will support it one hundred percent.
His message? Start drinking early! How could a player get anymore into the heads of the fans than to encourage some good ol’ drinking while tailgating?
“Yeah, start drinking early, get nice and rowdy. It’s a 4:15 game, a lot of time to get lubed up. Come out here, and cheer for the home team.”
I’m willing to bet that Patriots fans up and down New England heard the suggestion from their star quarterback and agreed whole heartedly.
The Patriots tried to do some damage control later saying that Brady meant for fans to “Stay hydrated, drink a lot of water. Be loud, drink responsibly.”
Yea sure, that’s exactly what he meant.
Play us for a fool all you want Patriots, but we know what he was getting at. He wants a rowdy crowd and there’s no better way to get a bunch of overweight, middle-aged men to act crazy than to fill them to the brim with alcohol.
Brady went on to say:
“The crowd, it always helps when they’re loud but we got to give them reasons to be loud, we’ve got to give them reasons to cheer for us. Hopefully those muskets are going off a lot this weekend.”
If Brady has a game that’s anything close to Monday night, the muskets might not have enough gun powder.
