Patriots wide receiver Chad Ochocino flew to Florida on Friday, just two days before the first conference title game of his career, according to CSNNE’s Tom E. Curran.

The Boston Herald’s Ian Rapoport reports that Ochocinco flew down to Florida for his father’s funeral, which is set for Saturday, but will be back in Foxboro to play in Sunday’s AFC Championship Game against the Ravens.

He first Tweeted about his father’s death on Monday. His girlfriend Evelyn later Tweeted that “cancer sucks!!!” so I presume he probably died of cancer.

Not much is known about Ochocinco’s dad, but his name is likely Sam Brown. Rapoport reports Ocho and his dad has a complicated relationship.

Ochocinco played in only one snap in last Saturday’s win over the Broncos.
