While Rob Gronkowski’s ankle injury limited him to just 2 catches for 26 yards in the Super Bowl, it didn’t stop him from “Party-Gronking” just a couple hours after the game was over.
It led me to wonder… how bad is his ankle really hurt?
Well, Gronk went under the knife Friday for some arthroscopic on his high-ankle sprain. Sources told WBZ-TV that it will take him 10 weeks to recover.
This season, he set an NFL record for touchdown catches by a tight end with 17 (he added an 18th touchdown on a “rush”), catching 90 balls in all for an NFL record (for a TE) 1,327 yards.
The 2010 second round pick is just 22, so he should be able to bounce back just fine for next season.
