With the NHL trade deadline only a few days away, reports from TSN’s Bob McKenzie say that the Bruins are one of several teams that have a high interest level in Kings forward Dustin Brown.
Brown is 27 years old and wears the “C” for the Kings. He plays right wing, and that is the position that the Bruins need to fill with Nathan Horton and Rich Peverley out.
Brown plays a very similar game to Horton, as both players can score around the 30-goal mark and be a physical presence every game. Brown is under contract for two more years at just over $3 million per year.
After trading Jack Johnson Thursday, the Kings could be looking for a prospect on the blue line. Peter Chiarelli, though, has said that minor league defenseman Dougie Hamilton will not be in play for trades.
It is possible that the Kings are only looking to see what the market is for Brown. He is still young (27) and a proven goal scorer.
