Rondo and Garnett among NBA’s most popular jerseys internationally

The NBA released it’s top-10 internationally sold jerseys on Thursday. Kevin Garnett was the fourth most popular jersey, while Rajon Rondo’s #9 sold the seventh most. Both Celtics’ players ranked above the likes of Carmelo Anthony, Blake Griffin and Kevin Durant.  Arch-rival, Kobe Bryant, was the top selling jersey abroad.

Ainge says Garnett will take another week to decide future

In an interview with WEEI, Celtics’ GM, Danny Ainge, stated that he expected at least another week before himself and the rest of Celtics’ nation will know anything about what the future holds for Garnett. Garnett is expected to choose between retirement and a return to the Celtics by sometime around the start of NBA free agency on July 1st.

Celtics announce “Hybrid Affiliation” with Maine Red Claws

In a move that shows an eye to the future, the Celtics signed off on assuming all management roles for the NBA Developmental League franchise, the Maine Red Claws. The Celtics’ had shared affiliation with the Red Claws with the Charlotte Bobcats and Philadelphia 76ers in previous seasons. Now the Celtics will take sole responsibility for choosing the coaching staff and management for the D-League franchise.

Celtics have 25-1 odds to win 2013 Finals

The Bovado odds for the 2013 NBA Finals came out on Friday with the Celtics holding the ninth best odds of bringing home the title next season. The Miami Heat are the odds on favorites to win it all and defend their 2012 NBA crown. The Celtics share 25-1 odds with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Celtics promise to take Royce White in NBA Draft?

On Thursday, ESPN’s Chad Ford announced that Iowa State’s Royce White had pulled out of all remaining workouts on his schedule because he had received a promise a draft promise from a team in the first round of next Thursday’s NBA Draft. It was later reported that this promise was believed to have come from the Celtics, who own the 21st and 22nd picks.

White is an incredibly talented point forward in the LeBron James, Scottie Pippen mold whose draft stock is low because of an anxiety disorder that includes a fear of flying. It is believed that the strong culture of the Celtics and the steady leadership of Doc Rivers would be an ideal situation for White to be drafted into.
