Allen spurned the Celtics last week when he decided to sign a three year $11 million deal with the Heat instead of taking the two year $12 million deal Danny Ainge and the Celtics had on the table. A more defined role and the allure of multiple more championships made Allen ultimately decide to break up Boston’s “Big Three” to play behind Miami’s.
Allen will wear his old number and Paul Pierce’s, #34, for the Heat. Allen and Lewis were teammates from 2003-2007 as members of the Seattle Supersonics (now the OKC Thunder).
