Josh Beckett Leaves With Injured Back, Fans Boo Him Off the Field

Josh Beckett was not traded at the non-waivers trading deadline, but he still made headlines on Tuesday.

Beckett, who started Tuesday night’s game against the Tigers, left the game with what looked to be a back issue. He left with the bases loaded and two outs in the third inning.

When he came out, fans absolutely let him have it, booing him off the field.

The boos would be commonplace in Philadelphia, but it’s odd to see the Fenway Faithful booing a player who leaves with an injury. It just goes to show how unpopular Beckett has become with the fans.

Clayton Mortensen came on and got Prince Fielder to fly out, ending the threat.
