Chad Johnson Arrested for Headbutting Wife Evelyn Lozada

Former Patriots wide receiver Chad Johnson was arrested Saturday for domestic assault after he allegedly headbutted his wife, Evelyn Lozada.

Johnson and Lozada allegedly went out for dinner, and when they returned home, Lozada found a receipt for a box of condoms, sparking a fight, according to the Orlando Sun Sentinel.

“It gets pretty heated,” Davie Police Department Capt. Dale Engle said. “By the time they get home here in Davie it’s pretty heated. She alleges he leaned over and head butted her. He says she leaned towards him and that they butted heads. Needless to say she has a good laceration on her forehead.”

Johnson will be held behind bars pending arraignment on Monday.

Once released, Johnson will likely be ordered to stay away from his wife for at least a few months until the charges are legally resolved.

Until Saturday, Johnson had never been arrested during his NFL career.

Johnson, formerly known as Chad Ochocinco, had the worst season of his career last year for the Patriots, finishing with 15 catches for 276 yards and one touchdown.
