Among the details in Jeff Passan’s bombshell report for Yahoo! on Tuesday was a report that a photo of Dustin Pedroia and Bobby Valentine was being circulated around the Red Sox clubhouse via text message.

The source said that the photo shows Pedroia wagging his tongue with both thumbs up next to a sleeping Bobby Valentine.

The caption that accompanies the photo reads, “Our manager contemplating his lineup at 3:30 p.m.”

While Pedroia is known as the clubhouse prankster, the picture seems to represent a bigger issue: the players’ perceived lack of respect for their manager runs deep.
