Boston Celtics’ star point guard, Rajon Rondo, has added to his busy offseason this week by taking an internship with GQ magazine during New York City’s Fashion Week. Rondo should be able to fit the internship in since NBA training camps don’t open until September 28th.
GQ announced the presence of Rondo at their Fashion Week headquarters in a press release this morning and reported that he would be working closely with the magazine’s creative director, Jim Moore, and his fashion department staff.
Rondo said of his new position,”I’m humble. Anything GQ needs me to do—getting coffee—I’ll do. In my position, I haven’t done things like this in my entire life. It’s fun doing what I do, but it’s nice getting the flipside of that 9 to 5.”
GQ’s blog reports that Rondo will be doing interviews, critiques and blog posts during the coming week as he attends runway shows with the magazine’s staff. In the dead of the NBA offseason this is truly some entertaining news.
