It’s been pretty much wall to wall crap for the Red Sox this season, but in the midst of their summer of discontent there have been few bright spots, last night being one of them. After the 6th inning, Bobby Valentine pulled Dustin Pedroia from the game, informing his wife Kelli was going into labor. Pedroia’s face is pretty priceless as he stares on in disbelief for a few seconds before jogging off the field to go be with his wife.
After that brief, touching moment, the Red Sox returned to their normal disfunction as Valentine and Cody Ross would go on to be ejected, the Sox would lose 5-4 and Pedroia’s new kid was probably traded for a few promising early term pregnancies.
