The playoffs are upon us, starting with the first two Wildcard playoff games in MLB History. First up, the Braves host the defending champion Cardinals, followed by the upstart Orioles visiting AL powerhouse Texas. Both games are sure to be interesting, but with the Orioles’ great season and Texas’ struggles, it’s created a divide among our experts as to who will win that game. There’s much more of a consensus on Atlanta to guarantee a new World Series champion, but Texas is losing that confidence.
In our panel, guessing the winner of each Wildcard game is worth two points. That’s all there will be in the simplistic Wildcard round, but it could easily be a morale booster and stepping stone for future rounds.
