2012 MLB Playoffs Expert Picks: Wildcard Round Results

St. Louis may have advanced on a questionable call, but they're still moving on to the next round. (http://images.nationalgeographic.com)

The first ever Wildcard round is now in the books, and it started off with plenty of controversy. Despite committing three errors, the Braves were launching a comeback in the 8th, when a fly ball to shallow left was put under the infield fly rule despite a long ways to go for the shortstop and miscommunication between short and left. That killed off the momentum as fans littered the field with whatever they could throw. But Joe Torre denied Atlanta’s protest based on the ump’s judgement call (which didn’t come until the ball was just about on the ground), and the Cardinals advance. The Orioles also advance, but under MUCH less fanfare.

That leads us to the best-of-five divisional round series, but before that, we present to you the results of the Wildcard Round Pick ‘Em. So check below for the results, and check back later in the evening for the next round’s picks:

Rangers vs Orioles Braves vs Cardinals Total
Name Winner Winner Points
John Orioles Braves 2
Josh Rangers Braves 0
KC Orioles Braves 2
