Celtics Get Blown Out by Pistons, Rondo’s Streak Continues

The Celtics forgot to show up at the Palace of Auburn Hills in Detroit and got blown out by the previously 1-9 Pistons, 103-83, Sunday night. This game might as well have been a forfeit as it was the Celtics fourth game in five nights, and they clearly weren’t interested in playing any defense or offense.

Rajon Rondo’s double digit assist streak was in serious jeopardy tonight as he entered the fourth quarter with just 6 assists. It became clear late in the fourth that the Celtics would continue to chuck up shots off Rondo passes, just to keep his streak alive.

Rondo finished with 10 assists to go with 12 points and now has recorded double digit assists in 34 straight regular season games, three shy of John Stockton and 2nd all-time.

Greg Monroe and Jason Maxiell wreaked havoc on the Celtics lethargic front court and combined for 35 points and 19 rebounds.

Now let’s forget this game ever happened and forget for a moment that Rob Gronkowski’s forearm is broken, and enjoy a video montage of the 2008 NBA Finals.
