Boston College and Boston University both played host for their games on Sunday afternoon, and when both games knotted up at 52 at the end of regulation, it would take overtime to give themselves winning records at home.

BC, led once again by sophomore Ryan Anderson’s 23 points and career-high 19 rebounds, took on the University of New Hampshire. The Wildcats took advantage of a poor shooting night by the Eagles, opening up a 13-point lead early in the second half. The Eagles only managed 23 points in the first half, thanks to the team going 0-for-9 behind the arc. A couple late runs, including a 12-0 push while holding the Wildcats scoreless for nearly seven minutes.

The teams were tied at the end of regulation, but in overtime, BC finally broke out of their 3-point slump, hitting two key buckets to give them enough momentum to just hold off the Wildcats, breaking the previous 0-for-19 streak from three-point land.

As for Boston University, they took on Quinnipiac in another poor shooting display. The Terriers shot just 37 percent while the Bobcats hit 43 percent. Freshman John Papale led the Terriers off the bench with 16 points, including a game-tying 3-pointer near the end of regulation. Papale shot 4-of-7 from behind the arc and was one of the key reasons for his team’s win. The Terriers also took advantage at the charity stripe, shooting 74 percent accounting for 17 points, and forced 20 turnovers by the Bobcats. It was the Bobcats who made the push to force overtime, but behind Papale — and junior D.J. Irving’s 14 points — the Terriers held on for a 7-point lead.

Boston College evens their record at 5-5, and will play Providence at the Conte Forum this Saturday. Boston University raises their record to 4-6, and will welcome Ivy League contender Cornell on Saturday.
