After Close Loss to Duke, BC Men’s Basketball Has to Move on

The Boston College Eagles men’s basketball team are in the midst of another mediocre season and will likely not be heading to the NCAA tournament. At 10-13, it would be easy to give up on the season.

But the 13th loss was actually pretty motivating. Did you miss the game while cleaning up from the blizzard?

On Sunday, the Eagles nearly defeated No. 4 Duke in Chestnut Hill, losing 62-61. I bet a lot of NCAA basketball picks would have been quite wrong had the Eagles turned it around. Maybe it’s time to get some new college basketball betting advice.

“Nothing about today was easy,” Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski said Sunday night after beating BC. “These are games anybody can lose, and throughout the country everybody is losing them. Our guys found a way to win against a team that was also deserving to win, so that’s a real good thing.”

BC led by five points with 2:15 to go, but could not hang on. With the loss, they are now 2-8 in the ACC.

Oliver Hanlan led all Eagles players with 20 points.

The Eagles next host Wake Forest on Wednesday night.
