Donte’ Stallworth Injured in Hot Air Balloon Accident

It seems like former Patriot Donte’ Stallworth just can’t escape crazy Florida headlines.

Four years after serving 24 days in jail for DUI vehicular manslaughter in Miami, Stallworth was hospitalized earlier on Saturday after suffering serious burns when a hot air balloon carrying the wide receiver crashed into power lines in Florida.

Stallworth is in stable condition, and he will be able to resume his career despite the nature of the injuries.

The hot air balloon was carrying two other people when it became entangled in power lines, including Stallworth’s girlfriend.

A free agent, Stallworth had his second stint with the New England Patriots last season, but had his time with the team cut short when he suffered a season-ending foot injury on a 63-yard touchdown catch in the only game he played. It was his only reception of the season. In 2007, his first season with New England, Stallworth hauled in 46 passes totaling 697 yards and 3 touchdowns.
