According to CBS Sports, the Mavericks and Pistons are two teams that have expressed interest in acquiring Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo. With the Celtics rebuilding process well under way, teams are beginning to think Rondo can be had for the right price.
Danny Ainge has repeatedly told teams that he does not intend to trade Rondo, but is always willing to listen to offers from other teams. In addition to their pursuit of Dwight Howard, Ken Berger of CBS reports that the Mavericks intend to also pursue a trade for Rondo.
If Ainge decides to shop Rondo, he won’t give him away. Any team interested in the All-Star point guard will have to offer multiple first round picks and expiring contracts to make it worth the Celtics while. The Celtics are currently in rebuilding mode and if Danny gets the right deal, he may indeed trade Rondo.
