Bruins Sign Tuukka Rask to 8-Year, $56 Million Deal

The Boston Bruins have signed goalie Tuukka Rask to an eight-year, $56 million deal. Rask, who was a restricted free agent after signing a one-year deal last offseason, will make $7 million per season.

Rask had a strong regular season and followed it up with a great playoff run. He finished with a .940 save percentage and 1.88 goals against average, and was especially dominant in the Eastern Conference Finals, a series in which he gave up just two goals in a four-game sweep of the Penguins.

Rask is costly for the Bruins, who had to part ways with Nathan Horton, Andrew Ference, Jaromir Jagr and Tyler Seguin this offseason.

They did manage to sign F Jarome Iginla to a one-year deal, however.
