Jake Peavy Traded to Red Sox, Jose Iglesias Traded to Tigers in 3-Team Deal

The Red Sox, White Sox and Tigers agreed to a major three-team trade a day before the deadline.

Red Sox Trade For:

  • SP Jake Peavy (from White Sox)
  • RP Brayan Villarreal (from Tigers)

Tigers Trade For:

  • IF Jose Iglesias (from Red Sox)

White Sox Trade For:

  • OF Avisial Garcia (prospect from Tigers)
  • P J.B. Wendelken (prospect from Red Sox)
  • P Francelis Montas (prospect from Red Sox)
  • IF Cleuluis Rondon (prospect from Red Sox)

Peavy gives the Red Sox some veteran starting pitching depth for the stretch run, while Iglesias gives the Tigers an insurance policy if SS Jhonny Peralta is suspended for his ties to Biogenesis.

The White Sox get four prospects.
