2013 NFL Preseason: Ready for Some Action?

Now that summer is coming to an end, it’s time to get ready for some NFL betting action. The NFL preseason kicks off this Sunday, August 4th when the Miami Dolphins and the Dallas Cowboys meet in the annual Hall of Fame Game, which is set to follow the induction ceremonies held on the previous day.

Although this is a preseason game, the match offers fans and bettors with the chance to see Miami’s recent acquisitions, including former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace, who signed a five-year contract for an estimated $60 million. Other free agents stated to make their debut with Miami are former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Dannell Ellerbe, former Oakland Raiders linebacker Philip Wheeler, former New York Jets tight end Dustin Keller and former St. Louis Rams wide receiver Brandon Gibson. In addition, 2013 draftees Dion Jordan (defensive End), Jamar Taylor (Cornerback), Dallas Thomas (Tackle/Guard), Will Davis (cornerback), Jelani Jenkins (Linebacker) and Dion Sims (tight end) are also stated to make their professional during the preseason.

Dallas will also take the chance to test some of their signed players and rookies, including Defensive Tackle Jerome Long, Tight End Dante Rosario, as well as draftees B.W. Webb, DeVonte Holloman, Joseph Randle and Gavin Escobar.

As usual, the preseason offers bettors a great chance to get some early action and increase your bankroll before the regular season officially starts. Odds for this game are already available at most online sportsbetting sites. Currently the Dolphins are favored by oddsmakers by -2 ½ points, with a score total set at 33 points (-100 o/u).

The preseason resumes on August 8th with a total of 6 games.  First, the defending NFL champion, the Baltimore Ravens, visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 7:30 PM ET. The Buccaneers are listed at -3 points favorite with a total of 35 ½ points.  Five other games are set to begin at 8:00 pm: Redskins vs. Titans (Titans -1.5, Total 35.5), Rams vs. Browns (Cleveland -4.5, Total 35.5), Bengals vs. Falcons (Atlanta -2.5, Total 37), Broncos vs. 49ers (San Francisco -3, total 35), and Seahawks vs. Chargers (Seattle -2.5, Total 35.5).
