Connelly’s Top Ten: Red Sox Flushed By Royals

1. Red Sox:

* The first inning by Jon Lester is why I can’t watch a whole game – 40 pitches / 25 minutes / whining at umpire – why so mad?
* Stephen Drew 9 games since Iglesias left 15-32 / 3 extra base hits / 8 rbi
* Red Sox sixth on Vegas Insider to win the World Series at 8-1 odds
* Royals won their 16th out of their last 20 games and only had a crowd of 21,121 at the game

3. Patriots:

* Poor Wes Welker was castigated in front of his peers – trying working on an assembly line five days a week, 50 weeks a year for 40 years and then you can complain about being yelled at
* I know its early but could Bill have hit the jackpot with this year’s receiver draft – Dobson, Sudfeld, Boyce, Thompkins,
* Will the Patriots average over 23 yards a kickoff return this year with Leon Washington
* Draft position of starting linebackers – Mayo 10th / Spikes 62nd / Hightower 25th
* Traffic alerts for work day Patriots games – Friday August 16th / Thurs August 29th / Thurs Sept 12th
* By the way Bill Belichick must love that he’s still in Welker’s head (is Welker talking a sign that he is missing Foxboro?)
* I think I saw this in Shaughnessy’s notes – Bernard Pollard was the last person to tackle Aaron Hernandez

  1. off the wall was fading out when i was in elementary school (1990). c’mon… seriously, the game is technically called “suicide”. perhaps PC parents made it happen…

    apparently they need to call the wambulance in denver and express him back to foxboro. he obviously regrets making the decision he did, BUT the team forced him to make it. i blame the pats 60%, if not more, in this whole thing. the crying / whining now is bizarre, though. it’s like, get a life…

    why so mad, bro? lester stinks, he’s not pitching in the postseason, let alone the 1-game playoff, if season ended today.

    REPLY – MPC – Welker might be the only receiver not to fully regret leaving Brady but there he has to deal with Manning telling you what to do

  2. Flintstones based on Honeymooners, but nobody could top Jackie G, it’s Ralph.
    Bees can only sting once and then die, hornets win, no contest.

    p.s. When I checked last, Iglesias was 4 for 24 with an OPS of .524 for the Tigers.

    REPLY – MPC – Good point on bee

  4. Off the wall, great, played for hours. also, off the steps (or stairs)especially if you catch the edge. And how about pickle? Where’s my glove?

    REPLY – MPC – Off the steps great / pickle without the pegging worked for me

  5. I’ve definitely seen leaves on the ground up here in NH already. Love the fall but am not ready to let go of this summer.

    My postseason rotation right now would be in this order: Lackey, Peavy, Bucholz (if healthy), Lester.

    We were solidiers also a pretty good Vietnam movie.

    REPLY – MPC – Wow Lackey first game starter – could be right believe it or not / Fall I wish was all year except for what comes after it / We Were Soliders good solid movie

  6. Re: “How come it takes five years to fix a bridge and they could erect one in two hours in World War II?”

    I’ve often thought the same thing. Not to mention, in WWII, the American engineers were often being shot at/bombed by Germans.

    REPLY – MPC – Adding to the degree of difficulty
