2013 MLB Playoffs Expert Picks: Wildcard Round Results

Tampa won two elimination games to get to the final eight, but now they have to deal with a patient and dangerous Red Sox squad. (getahugetank.com)

The wildcard elimination games are complete, and the best-of-five divisional round series are right on their heels. Perhaps no team is on a bigger roll than the Rays right now, winning two sudden death games in three days (at Texas and at Cleveland) to earn the right to face the Red Sox. Tampa’s stellar pitching carried them right through to this round, while Johnny Cueto simply couldn’t stand up to the pressure of a raucous Pittsburgh crowd.

Overall, our panel saw much of this coming. Tampa and Pittsburgh each got a majority of the selections, giving some a slight edge going to into the divisional round picks. Speaking of which, check back shortly for the next set of picks, and check below for the Wildcard results.
