The World Series is finally here, and the Boston Red Sox look to consummate their worst-to-first turnaround against perennial contender St Louis. Coming off great pitching performances and clutch hitting, these two teams look to make this series one for the ages no matter who wins.
While most of our panelists don’t think pitching will be MVP-worthy in this series, it does look to be a long and fun series. With the end of the season near, would anyone expect any less?
For this final series, we’re introducing a new scoring category; experts will be guessing how many home runs will be hit in the final game by both sides combined. And in addition, ALL POINTS ARE DOUBLED!!! That means picking the winner of a series is worth four points, and guessing how many games the series will last and the MVP of the series is worth two point. Ditto for the combined HR total in the final game.
In the event of a tie, we’ll also be guessing the combined walks-plus-hits-per-innings-pitched of LCS MVPs Michael Wacha and Koji Uehara over the course of the World Series. Their walks and hits given up over the series will be pooled, as will their innings pitched, and the former sum will be divided by the latter.
So now that the red tape is out of the way, check below for the pick sets. And come back once the series is finished for the final results.
