Are you already suffering from Week 10 withdrawal? Have a case of the Brady-Belichick Blues? The Patriots may be on their bye week, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still get some of your football fill.
During last week’s 55-31 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was mic’d up by the always great NFL Films. The best part of the clip by far is when Belichick – along with offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, quarterback Tom Brady, and presumably everyone else on the 53-man roster – ridicules Red Sox players for being “so little” when they came to show off their shiny new World Series trophy (sorry, that probably won’t get old until sometime next summer).
Of course, the rest of it is pretty standard Belichick, Man of Few (and Bland) Words. Sure, he drops an F-bomb while taking the blame for a Steelers touchdown here, and even shows the occasional modicum of encouragement there, but overall it feels like a only slightly more effusive post game press conference.
But that’s not a real surprise; it is the Patriot Way, after all. Let’s just be thankful that the Patriot Way even permits clipping a microphone to Belichick’s sleeveless sweatshirt for a glimpse of (what passes for) impromptu moments on the New England sideline.
