In another interesting turn in the Aaron Hernandez saga, his former close associate and right-hand man, Alexander Bradley, was shot in the leg outside a Hartford nightclub Sunday night.
According to Hartford police, a disturbance broke out inside the club but the fight was pushed outside by club personnel. That is when Bradley was shot in the leg (unprovoked according to his lawyer) by an unknown assailant. In retaliation, Bradley retrieved a firearm from his car and fired 11 shots into the exterior of the building.
Bradley then got into his car and drove away from the nightclub where he was stopped by police. A wounded Bradley “spill[ed] out of the vehicle” and was immediately arrested. Authorities said a firearm was recovered in Bradley’s car.
Bradley was treated at the hospital for gunshot wounds to his right thigh. After being released from the hospital, Bradley was taken to police headquarters.
At his arraignment on Tuesday, Bradley was held on $1 million bond. He is facing charges of criminal possession of a firearm, criminal use of a firearm, reckless endangerment, stealing a firearm and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. Police do not have a suspect in the shooting of Bradley.
Bradley, who has been embroiled in the legal troubles surrounding his former close friend Hernandez, has been investigated for his alleged role in a 2012 double murder in which Hernandez is believed to be the trigger man and Bradley an accomplice. Police believe Bradley has crucial information about what happened the night of the double murder. Last year, Bradley filed a civil lawsuit against Hernandez after alleging Hernandez shot him in the face after an altercation at a Miami club. That case is pending in federal court in Florida.
