Tuuka Rask can literally stop shots fired out of a cannon. When Zdeno Chara, owner of the NHL’s hardest slap shot, is on your team this is exactly the type of hyperbole that one could expect to hear about Rask. But after a charity game in Finland some Boston fan may actually claim this to be true.
The video which can be seen below shows Rask stopping a shot from a military style cannon fired from the blue line. Chara’s hardest shot may clock in at a little over 108 mph but it must be just slightly more intimidating to stare down the barrel of a cannon before it’s about to fire.
Ok, ok so the shot probably wasn’t real and was just an elaborate stunt but until someone can say with definitive proof that it was a gimmick, I’m claiming that the Bruins goalie is so good he can stop cannon fire.
Goalies getting shot at with cannons weren’t the only crazy antics the Fins like to pull during their games. Players serving coffee, motocross exhibitions and gender equal ice performers were also in play. All of the shenanigans can be seen here.
