Redraft King: Week 7 2014 Advice

I was pretty happy with the results of my week 6 predictions. Hopefully you followed along and reached the weekly redraft promised land. Without further ado: Week 6 Recap: Jay Cutler scored 25 points and continued his high levels of production and consistency. With a juicy 113 passer rating Brian Hoyer led his team to […]

Redraft King: Week 6 2014 Advice

Unfortunately for this column I have set the precedent of reviewing my advice from the prior week. I wish I hadn’t. But I did. Here it goes. Week 5 Recap: Why didn’t I promote Austin Davis, Branden Oliver, Kendall Wright or Tim Wright! My week 5 advice didn’t happen to highlight those relatively obscure players who lit […]

Redraft King: Week 5 2014 Advice

Before jumping into week 5, let’s see how I did week 4. I will be the first to say, my predictions saw marked improvement over week 3. Week 4 Recap: Turns out Jacksonville’s defense is as bad as expected. Anyone who played Phillip Rivers enjoyed his 377 passing yards and 3 TDs.

Redraft King: Week 4 Redraft Advice

In the interest of full disclosure, before we dive to week 4 advice, let’s review where I was right and where I was wrong in week 3. If you missed it, here was my week 3 advice column. Week 3 Recap: Tom Brady turned out to be a terrible call, the Pats offense continues to struggle this season. Josh […]

Redraft King: Weekly Fantasy Football Advice for Week 3

If the title of this article makes no sense to you, please review my earlier post, weekly fantasy strategy. My goal over the remaining 15 weeks of the NFL schedule is to provide insight to the best deals and values of weekly fantasy players. Typically you are allotted $50,000 in fake money to draft your weekly team. Divided […]

Redraft King: Weekly Fantasy Football Strategy

“Sit on your couch! Play weekly fantasy football! And win boatloads of cash!” The message of that commercial sure sounded nice, when I was sitting on my couch, tweaking a fantasy football lineup, and hoping to miraculously obtain a boatload of cash. In fact, I was so intrigued, I gave it a shot. And I must say, weekly […]

How Will Patriots Handle Adrian Peterson?

The Patriots run defense had their hands full in week 1 to the Knowshon Moreno, Lamar Miller tandem. Their task won’t be any easier in week 2 as they prepare to face soon-to-be Hall of Famer Adrian Peterson. Can they stop him?

Overvalued and Undervalued 2014 Fantasy Football Players

Fantasy football is fickle. It is a game of chance where the best laid plans can regularly crumble before your tear-filled eyes. In the most basic sense, it is a game of risk analysis. Drafting your team is easily the most important part. Which players are most likely to score the most points? Which players have the greatest […]

Red Sox DFA A.J. Pierzynski: Sign of Things to Come

In a NESN interview on Tuesday, Red Sox GM Ben Cherington admitted, “At some point, we may need to be realistic and focus on helping the 2015 team.” That time is now. It is time for all of us to be realistic. They aren’t closing the gap. The Sox have struggled all year, and the […]

2014 Fantasy Value of Patriots Players

Patriots players and coaches have taken to the practice field, and Rob Gronkowski was spotted running up a hill. Consequently, it is time to begin thinking about which Patriot players you will want on your fantasy squad, and which players you should avoid. What do the odds makers say? Bet now on the best NFL odds here. Everyone […]

Brock Holt: Baseball Player or Superhero?

“Who is this Brock Holt guy,” I, and many other Red Sox fans asked ourselves back in mid-May. He sounds like a superhero. The name ‘Brock Holt’ has a lot of pizzazz. Like Peter Parker, Clark Kent, or Bruce Wayne. I will admit that I wrongfully dismissed him, “Ehh, he’s probably just some fill-in prospect.” May 17, […]

Bats Come Alive During Red Sox Turnaround

Twenty-six runs scored over a ten game span is bad, that is an average of 2.6 runs per game. A barren wasteland of offensive production. No wonder the Sox lost ten games in a row. In the last three games the Sox have averaged six runs per game. Not surprisingly, with that level of offensive firepower, […]

Can There Be Hope Despite Red Sox 9-Game Slide?

There is no way to put it sugar-coat it; the Sox have been bad, terrible, atrocious, putrid, pick any negative word you would like and the Red Sox have embodied it. If the Toronto series wasn’t bad enough, the Red Sox extended their losing streak to nine games with a soul-crushing 15th inning loss Saturday night. It’s […]

Top 10 Fantasy Football Rookie Options for 2014

Sure, the NFL draft was only a week ago, but it’s never too early for an examination of which rookies will have the most impact on your fantasy football team. This list is based primarily on skill and situation. There are many talented players who did not make this rookie only list because they are on a team […]

Patriots Trade 93rd (3rd round) Pick to Jaguars

The Jacksonville Jaguars traded for the Patriots’ 3rd round pick and selected OG Brandon Linder from Miami. Mel Kiper Jr. glowingly described Linder on live television as ‘a career back up.’ Seemingly, the Patriots didn’t miss out on much. As compensation, the Patriots received the 105th and 179th picks (4th and 6th rounds).
