10 weeks into the season, and injuries continue to take their toll. Major suspensions are starting to expire, which should help the affected teams. The AFC North has only winning records, while the NFC South has only losing records. Wildcard races remain crowded, especially in the AFC. A lot is happening right now in the NFL, so let’s look at what would happen if the playoffs started as of Tuesday, November 11: Continue reading If the Playoffs Started Today – NFL Week 10 »

NFL Week 10 2014 Betting Tips

Week 8 in the NFL was not a pretty week, as I recorded a 1-3 record. I was desperately in need of having my own so called “Bye Week,” and so I obliged, (Week 9 I would have went 2-2). I am now sitting with a 15-14 overall record, and am now looking for a perfect week 10 after my bye. I will be picking three games rather than usual four, (less is more). Cardinals vs Patriots: Week 9's prediction for the Super Bowl

All teams are now at least halfway through their season. The NFC South has no winning teams, while the AFC North has only winning teams. Star power is throwing its way around, and with a no contest plea, Adrian Peterson could be on his way back relatively soon, if Roger Goodell allows it. Only the Cardinals have just one win, while the winless Raiders are still in line for the top draft picks. Dallas is heading to London, which finally gets a pretty good team to see, but it should be a slaughter against the Jaguars. Much of the standings remain close, so let’s look at what would happen if the playoffs started as of Tuesday, November 4: Continue reading If the Playoffs Started Today – NFL Week 9 »

When the Patriots acquired Akeem Ayers prior to the trading deadline, they were getting a player that had shown pass rush prowess in 2012 but had disappointed in 2013 and early 2014. He had fallen out of favor with the Tennessee defensive coaches and the Patriots hoped a fresh start would help Ayers find his 2012 form. So far the move has worked out better than the Patriots had hoped.

Through two games, Ayers has two sacks and has been on the field in critical situations. His biggest play was a second quarter sack of Peyton Manning against Denver. It was a fourth and six play with Denver driving. Prior to the snap, the Patriots showed blitz but backed off when the ball was snapped leaving only three men to rush. Vince Wilfork took up two blockers and Ayers stunted around Wilfork and got a clean burst up the middle on Manning. The Patriots were able to score on their ensuing drive and did not look back, winning 43-21. Continue reading Akeem Ayers Contributing Early On With Patriots »

Cardinals vs Broncos: Week 8's prediction for the Super Bowl

Halfway through the season, and there are still several teams that could still legitimately claim the title. One of them, Arizona, could do so in their home stadium, the first time anyone would even have the chance. Every one of the four teams in the NFC South is sub-.500. Injuries are still an issue for some teams. The trade deadline passed in relative obscurity. As always, it will be a big push to make a final run at the postseason, so let’s look at what would happen if the playoffs started as of Tuesday, October 28: Continue reading If the Playoffs Started Today – NFL Week 8 »

2014 NFL Week 8 Betting Tips

Eagles vs Chargers: Week 6's prediction for the Super Bowl

Week 7 in the NFL was a rather lackluster week, as I recorded a 2-2 record last week. The Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints had no trouble covering, but that was not the same story for the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers, as they both flamed out. I look to have a better showing in Week 8 in the NFL. My overall record for the year is currently 14-11.

Take the San Diego Chargers (+9) over the Denver Broncos.

I am not one to usually give advice about the Thursday Night game, but this is a different situation. Continue reading 2014 NFL Week 8 Betting Tips »

Cowboys vs Broncos: Week 7's prediction for the Super Bowl

After seven weeks, both conferences have new leaders. Multiple division leaders are starting to slip, while other teams are responding by making a move in the standings. Defending champion Seattle lost their second straight game, getting upset by special teams trickery in St Louis. The Jaguars finally got a win, leaving Oakland as the lone winless team. With plenty going on in late October, let’s look at what would happen if the playoffs started as of Tuesday, October 21: Continue reading If the Playoffs Started Today – NFL Week 7 »
