A Celtics team without Jeff Green and Rajon Rondo would typically get blown out by 20, and not blow out another team by 20. On Monday night the Celtics did in fact win by 20 points, in a game where their starting five had a combined 10 years of NBA experience. The Celtics were trailing at the half, […]
As we learned last week, Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo injured his hand allegedly falling in his shower, leaving him injured for up to 10 weeks, meaning he’ll miss the first few games of the 2014—15 season and the Celtics will now have to find another starter to begin the season. Boston has grown accustomed to finding […]
Monday was media day for the Boston Celtics, and in addition to getting to see the players in uniform for the first time in 2014—15, including the injured Rajon Rondo, the Celtics made some roster moves. The biggest one was the signing of free agent small forward Evan Turner, which was reported months ago but […]
Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo fractured a metacarpal bone in his left hand after falling at his home on Thursday night. He underwent surgery at New England Baptist Hospital on Friday and is expected to be out six to eight weeks. Boston opens its regular season on October 29 against Brooklyn, so Rondo could miss anywhere between […]
It was a relief to Boston fans and members of the Celtics organization alike when Keith Bogans was traded last night. The disgruntled veteran became such a stick-in-the-mud last season that he was excused for “personal reasons”. Those “reasons” may or may not have anything to do with the fact that he has very little talent and is […]
Danny Ainge proved once again on Thursday that he is the master of the salary-dumping trade by sending shooting guard Keith Bogans and two future conditional second-round picks to Cleveland. In exchange, the Celtics received point guard John Lucas III and power forwards Erik Murphy, Dwight Powell and Malcolm Thomas along with two second rounders. Bogans, an 11-year […]
The Boston Celtics will officially lose out on the services of superstar power forward Kevin Love on August 23. Once the calendar turns to that date, the Cleveland Cavaliers are going to send the first overall pick of the 2014 Draft, Andrew Wiggins, along with a few other assets to Minnesota in exchange for Love. Before […]
First, Marcus Smart was highly touted for his play as a member of the USA Select Team, younger players chosen to play against the candidates for the USA National Team in this summer’s FIBA World Championship. The Celtics rookie, one of just two first-year players picked to play against the best American NBA players, was […]
While there has been a lull in the Celtics’ offseason activity over the past couple of weeks, former Boston power forward Brian Scalabrine gave fans something to smile about with a parody of LeBron James‘s recent “I’m Coming Home” Sports Illustrated article. In a similar first-person piece published Monday on CSNNE.com, Scalabrine announced that he […]
Celtics center Vitor Faverani has been arrested on DUI charges in Spain, according to reports. Faverani is accused of running a red light and crashing his BMW into a bus. No one was injured in the collision. The 6-foot-11, 260-pound Brazilian blew a 0.18 blood alcohol content (above Spain’s legal limit of 0.06), police said.
The Boston Celtics have been in the midst of trade talks since the end of the 2013-14 NBA season. The C’s have been mentioned in a wide range of rumors from acquiring Minnesota’s Kevin Love to trading Rajon Rondo. Through the whirlwind of these rumors, the Celts have remained rather quiet, however. The C’s were […]
The Celtics have agreed to sign 25-year-old swingman Evan Turner, and it’s likely for a portion of the mid-level exception. The final terms of the contract are not yet known, as the Celtics have around $7 million in non-guaranteed salary, so the amount of room they will have under the cap is not yet determined. Turner […]
The Celtics completed a deal with Washington on Saturday, re-signing unrestricted free agent power forward Kris Humphries to a three-year, $13 million contract and subsequently trading him to the Wizards in exchange for a conditional second-round pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. Humphries was quite solid last year for the Celtics, who acquired him from Brooklyn […]
NBA legend Bill Russell, widely considered as one of the 2 or 3 best centers in league history, was hospitalized Thursday after feeling faint while giving a speech in Nevada. The 80-year-old Russell was taken away from the event on a stretcher and taken to the hospital as a precaution.
The 2014 NBA free agency period should be a very busy time for the Boston Celtics, with many questions looming. Questions such as: who are the C’s going to re-sign? Who are the C’s going to let go? Who are the C’s going to trade or acquire? The first one of these questions they answered was the one about Avery Bradley’s future. […]
