Celtics to Trade Big Baby to Bobcats for Augustin?

The Celtics and Bobcats are reportedly talking a trade that would send Glen Davis to Charlotte for point guard D.J. Augustin. The two teams make a good match: the Bobcats have been looking for a power forward, while the Celtics have been looking for a legitimate backup point guard. Davis has had problems this season […]

If the Playoffs Started Today – NBA Week 14

There’s been some movement over the past week, particularly in the lower seeds of the Western Conference, where the Grizzlies have faded back out of the race, 1.5 games behind the Blazers. The lower East seeds have kept playoff spots, but have shuffled the first round match-ups around. Also, remember when the Celtics lost only […]

If the Playoffs Started Today – NBA Week 13

The season’s cruising along, and it won’t be long before we’re talking playoffs. As expected, the Lakers have a comfortable West lead, and the Cavaliers are right back where they were last season. And thanks to some recent good fortune, so are the Celtics. The East’s final spots have stabilized nicely, while the West’s final […]

If the Playoffs Started Today – NBA Week 12

With the season about half over now, plenty of teams are worthy of attention. Who would have thought the Bobcats would be #5, especially after a 39-point obliteration of Miami? Memphis is knocking on the door out West, and New Orleans, New York, and Milwaukee aren’t that far out either. The Celtics can’t hold a […]

If the Playoffs Started Today – NBA Week 11

Teams have started to settle into their positions as we approach the half-way mark of the season, but plenty of spots are ripe for the taking. Only three teams are not within 5.5 games of a playoff spot. The Bucks are not in a playoff spot, but are 2.5 games away from #5. Similarly out […]

If the Playoffs Started Today – NBA Week 10

A full ten weeks into the season, plenty of surprises are still in place. The Bobcats and Bucks are still hanging onto playoff spots, as are the Thunder. Even the Clippers, who were up by nine at the half “at home” against the Lakers late, are just three games out of the brackets. And the […]

Red Claws Center Alexis Ajinca Nearly Wins Weekly Award

Red Claws center Alexis Ajinca nearly took home the NBA Development League’s Performer of the Week honors for games played during the week of Dec. 28. Ajinca averaged 17.5 points and 11.5 rebounds as he continues to improve with increased playing time. Unfortunately for the Celtics, Ajinca will not be apart of their future, as […]

If the Playoffs Started Today – NBA Week 9

Coming up on the end of 2009, the NBA season still has plenty of excitement left. Three East teams are still sub-.500 and in the playoff picture. The Lakers are taking control of the West while the East is once more up for grabs. A six-game Cavaliers winning streak is the longest active one in […]

If the Playoffs Started Today – NBA Week 8

Some interesting moves have occurred this past week. The Bulls just can’t seem to get their act together. The surging Knicks are just half a game out of a playoff spot. After winning their first ten home games, the Suns have lost their last two. The Lakers and Celtics both look to be getting back […]

If the Playoffs Started Today – NBA Week 7

What fun we’re having. The Celtics are starting to build a mini lead in the conference. Three sub-.500 teams are in the playoffs, giving the best teams a virtual bye. The Lakers are doing just as well as everyone thought, but they’re not running amok with the West. Yao-less Houston is still pushing for a […]

If the Playoffs Started Today – NBA Week 6

Things are hot, with both conferences’ 8 seeds leading their closets contenders by half a game. The West is once again making its case for the elite conference, with not one team below .500 team in sight of a playoff spot. Speaking of which, the Nets actually won last week. Twice. And they’re only 15.5 […]

If the Playoffs Started Today – NBA Week 5

Another week, another set of shakeups. The Suns are dropping, and the Nets set a new NBA record Wednesday by dropping their 18th straight game to start the season. Washington and Charlotte are coming up nicely, while Milwaukee is slipping from early season highs. And our personal favorite, the Celtics, are starting to once again […]

Celtics Tame Bobcats

The Boston Celtics and Charlotte Bobcats met up Tuesday night. Both teams were riding four-game win streaks, and both teams had formidable stats backing them up. The Celtics came into the game boasting the best road record in the NBA, whereas the Bobcats were holding opposing teams to the fewest points in the NBA (the […]

Charlotte Bobcats Center Alexis Ajinca Assigned to Maine Red Claws

It was announced the Maine Red Claws have made their second NBA to NBA D-League assignment today, following the Bill Walker signing a little over a week ago. The Red Claws get the 7’0” Charlotte Bobcats center Alexis Ajinca. He will join the team for their home opener on December 4th.

If the Playoffs Started Today – NBA Week 1

Plenty of action has already manifested itself, and we’re only through a week of the season. The Celtics are still undefeated, sharing the honor with Denver as the only unbeaten teams left. However, the close call with Minnesota was a tad much for my taste. After trying twice unsuccessfully, Denver is finally looking like they […]
