Report: Aaron Dobson Benched for “Mouthing Off”

Shalise Manza Young of the Boston Globe reported Wednesday night that second year receiver Aaron Dobson had been deactivated against Oakland and Kansas City because he “mouthed off” to offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. This is yet another chapter in what was a frustrating September for the Patriots, especially on offense. Dobson is a player who […]

Patriot Problems: What Has Caused Poor Start to 2014 and What Can be Done to Fix It

The New England Patriots are sitting at 2-2 following a blowout, 41-14 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night. The Chiefs were able to do anything they wanted against the Patriots throughout the game on both sides of the ball and they made the Patriots look like a cellar dweller instead of a […]

Former Patriots Coordinator Bill O’Brien Reportedly Next Head Coach of Texans

ESPN is reporting that former Patriots offensive coordinator and current Penn State coach Bill O’Brien is going to become the next head coach of the Houston Texans. These promotions of former Patriots coaches always makes me wonder how Bill Belichick reacts to his former coordinators becoming his equal (if there is such a thing with […]

Notes and Observations Week 16: Patriots Blow Out Ravens 41-7; Clinch AFC East

The title is slightly misleading as the Patriots clinched the AFC East crown for the fifth straight season before they even took the field on Sunday. Thanks to the Dolphins shooting themselves in the foot with a 19-0 loss to Buffalo, the Patriots had sealed the AFC East before the opening coin toss. However the […]

The Case for Kenbrell Thompkins

The Patriots offense is still trying to find its identity and Kenbrell Thompkins needs to be a part of it. Because he is the type of selfless player that the team cultivates, Thompkins himself would never say this but his play on the field does. Thompkins, an undrafted rookie out of the University of Cincinnati, […]

Should Tim Tebow Make the Patriot’s Final 53-Man Roster?

Third string quarterback Tim Tebow has received plenty of attention and scrutiny this preseason as a member of the Patriots. As one of the most polarizing players in the league, some are rooting for Tebow to make the team while others are repulsed by the idea of Tebow playing quarterback in the NFL. Now it […]

Patriots Signing of Tim Tebow is Ludicrous – Here’s Why

Someone forgot to tell the New England Patriot’s April Fool’s Day passed two months ago. No, this is not a bad joke, quarterback Tim Tebow is really bringing his talents to New England. One of the most polarizing players of our generation will be wearing a Patriots jersey this season to back up Tom Brady […]

Done Deal? Tim Tebow to the Patriots

With the Red Sox leading the American League and the Bruins about to enter the Stanley Cup Finals for the second time in three years, the beginning of Patriots minicamp was on the backburner of Boston’s hot stove of sports stories. That all changed on Monday evening when it was reported that Tim Tebow had […]

Heartbreaking End Allows Cardinals to Upset Patriots

A hotly contested game saw the Patriots receive unexpected hope only to see that hope disappear with one errant kick to seal a 20-18 upset for the Arizona Cardinals. The game was a big defensive battle, with only field goals now and then until the middle of the 3rd quarter. Even when the Cardinals made […]

Josh McDaniels Joins Patriots for Playoffs, Will Be Offensive Coordinator in 2012

The Patriots have found their replacement for the departing Bill O’Brien: former offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The 35-year-old McDaniels will join the Patriots immediately and help coach the Pats as an assistant during the playoffs. Then, he’ll take over as the offensive coordinator on a full-time basis in 2012.

Spygate Reborn: Broncos, McDaniels Fined $50,000 Each for Filming 49ers Practice

You thought you heard the last of it, but Spygate has reared its ugly head once again. This time, the Denver Broncos have been embroiled in a scandal involving former Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels and assistant Steve Scarnecchia, the son of current Patriots offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia. After an investigation, the NFL determined […]

Eric Mangini Wants to be Friends with Bill Belichick Again

Apparently, former Bill Belichick colleague and betrayer Eric Mangini wants to kiss and make up with the Patriots’ coach. Previously, he was Eric Mangini’s mentor, and, according his recent interview with NBC Sports’ Mike Florio, he was the reason Mangini got involved with the NFL.  That’s why it was so dramatic when he left. None […]

Tim Tebow Draft Review: QB Will Thrive With Broncos

Draft Day Drama Tim Tebow is as polarizing a sports figure as there is. His squeaky-clean image, his relationship with God, and his vast success have led to as many detractors as supporters. With their second pick in the first round, and 25th overall, the Denver Broncos made Tim Tebow a very happy young man. […]

Brady’s Struggles a Cause for Concern in 2009

Last weekend was not a good one to be a Boston sports fan. We watched the Red Sox blow leads of 5-2 in the seventh and 6-4 in the ninth in the same game and then immediately after, like a nice one-two punch combo, the Patriots blew a 10-point second half lead and lost to […]

PATS on the Back: Patriots vs. Broncos, Week 5

It was a game that fans around New England needed a win in. They had just finished watching their Red Sox blow a two-run, ninth inning lead, finishing their season with a sweep by the Angels. And so sports fans turned to the Patriots, facing an undefeated Denver Broncos team, led by ex-Patriot offensive coordinator […]
