Broncos Defeat Patriots 20-17 in Overtime

The Patriots led the whole way against the Broncos today but the defense simply couldn’t stop the mighty Kyle Orton and the Broncos were able to come from 10 points down to beat the Patriots, 20-17 in overtime. A 41-yard game-winning field goal by Matt Prater on the first possession in overtime only put an […]

Jay Cutler Traded to Bears

The whiner has left the building. Cassel Trade Is Better Than It Looks

I know what you are thinking. A starting quarterback and our defensive leader for a measly second round pick? Isn’t Matt Cassel less of a risk to a bad team than taking an unproven starter in the first round? What is Bill Belichick thinking turning down a top 15 pick from Denver and instead making […]

Colts 18, Patriots 15 – The Verdict

This game pretty much came down to a couple of plays. 1) Belichick using a challenge and losing a timeout three minutes into the second half on a play which would’ve gained the Pats five yards, instead they were facing just 2nd and 10. 2) Belichick using the team’s last timeout as Cassel snuck for […]

Patriots Offense in Transition

Here’s this week’s Patriots Two-Point Conversion column: The loss of Tom Brady to this offense in the first drive of the first week of the season puts the Patriots in some rare company. Only once before has a team lost a reigning NFL MVP for the entire season, that was back in 1991 when Joe […]
