The deadline day for trades was Thursday and the Boston Celtics were in the middle of speculation for different trade rumors that were surrounding different players in the NBA for the past few weeks; starting with Rajon Rondo, but there was nothing certain. You can find more details about this rumor at Sportsbook Review. Brad […]
It looks like the Celtics are going to stand pat with the roster they have as the NBA season cruises towards the playoffs. In a move that was simply made to acquire another healthy body, multiple media outlets are reporting that the Celtics have sent Leandro Barbosa and Jason Collins to the Washington Wizards in […]
Amidst rumors at last season’s trade deadline, the Celtics were also on an epic west coast road trip, but they had just won two games in a row. Many viewed the Celtics strong play after last season’s All-Star break as an emphatic statement that Paul Pierce and crew wanted to keep the band together for […]
It’s been a strange NBA season to say the least. We had the lockout to start the season and that produced this ridiculous condensed schedule. There have been countless injuries, and of course the endless free agency speculation involving Magic center Dwight Howard. Despite all that, TV ratings are up over last year and the […]
Over the last month every imaginable trade rumor involving the Celtics’ ‘Big 4′ core has crept into the headlines. Was Danny Ainge really shopping Rajon Rondo? Was half the league interested in Ray Allen and his expiring contract? Did the Celtics really offer Paul Pierce to several teams? While the deadline stands just hours away, […]
I had a good time last week writing the ‘Rondo trade destinations’ Power Rankings, so I figured I’d keep that ball rolling this week. Before the trade deadline passes, let’s take a look at who’s available, team needs, and what to expect on March 15th for every NBA team.
Welcome to a special NBA trade deadline edition of “The Atlantic!” Let’s “trend up” and “trend down” the latest rumors. Will the Big Three be broken up? My Momma always told me “Brian, If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Celtics GM Danny Ainge could have used my Momma. After a 97-87 Game 5 loss to the Miami Heat ended the Celtics season, it became all too clear that the gambles Ainge took at the trade deadline left him with nothing but […]
At the NBA trading deadline, the Celtics surprised everyone by trading off 5 players, including Kendrick Perkins and Nate Robinson in exchange for Jeff Green, Nenad Krstic, a draft pick, and cash. They also dealt away Luke Harangody, Semih Erden and the injured Marquis Daniels. Just for reference: The other Kendrick Perkins.
The Cavaliers strengthened their chances of winning an NBA Title by acquiring Wizards power forward Antawn Jamison in a three-team deal. Oh, and Cleveland somehow is still in the Amare Stoudemire sweepstakes. Let’s cut to the chase: Cavs Get: Antawn Jamison (from WAS) Sebastian Telfair (from LAC) Wizards Get: Zydrunas Ilgauskas (from CLE) First-round pick […]
UPDATE (7:45 p.m. Wednesday): Eddie House went to Celtics practice on Wednesday, despite the fact there’s “strong possibility I’ll be traded tomorrow to New York.” He figured he’d practice in case the trade for Nate Robinson did not happen. “With that being said I have a bond with these guys and I’ll always have a […]
The Celtics made a deal right at the NBA Trade Deadline, trading seldom-used center Patrick O’Bryant to the Raptors in a three-team deal. Raptors guard Will Solomon is headed to the Kings, and a heavily-protected second round pick is headed to the Celtics. The Celtics are definitely just clearing room to sign some veteran free […]

The Celtics even made a deal, sending away Patrick O’Bryant and getting a second round pick (that they probably won’t see) from the Kings. Check out the chat archives below to find our reactions to the trades as they […]

Cleveland made a huge 3-team trade, and Gerald Green already has a new home. First, let’s look at the Cavs-Bulls-Sonics deal. Did Cleveland’s new acquisitions give them enough at the deadline to […]

This is where I will compile four (4) small and related Celtics facts and offer my own spin on a variety of Celtics news stories. The general format will be a short blurb about the story first, then my reaction tabbed underneath […]
