Report: Samuel to Return to Pats

The Providence Journal is reporting that cornerback Asante Samuel will attend his first practice of the season today. Samuel is likely to sign his $7.79 million, one-year tender offer and try to get up to speed ahead of the season opener on Sept. 9.

Samuel was franchised tagged by the Patriots and after initially saying he was all right with the decision, decided not to attend camp in hopes of a long term deal or a trade.
