Dice-K vs Rookie Litsch

The Red Sox magic number is down to 19 after the Roger Clemens and the Yankees got spanked today 7-1.

Dice-K enters the game having lost three in a row. His ERA has gone from 3.59 to 3.88 in that time. With four to five starts possibly left for Matsuzaka, he needs to start a positive streak to be rookie of the year.

Matsuzaka is 2-1 against Toronto with a 3.32 ERA and has 20 K’s in 19 innings.

Litsch beat the Red Sox earlier this year going 6.2 innings allowing 9 hits and getting 2 K’s.

Lowell is riding a 15 game hitting streak.

Pedroia at .324 is 8th in the AL entering tonight.
