Sean Avery Video: NHL Players Getting “Sloppy Seconds”

The NHL suspended Dallas Stars center Sean Avery for “inappropriate public comments, not pertaining to the game.”

“I just want to comment on how it’s become like a common thing in the NHL for guys to fall in love with my sloppy seconds.” – Sean Avery

Avery, who used to date actress Elisha Cuthbert (24, The Girl Next Door), is furious that his ex-girlfriend is now dating Flames defensman Dion Phaneuf. Avery also dated actress Rachel Hunter, who is now the fiancée of Los Angeles center Jarrett Stoll.

Reaction: Who knew the NHL was so dramatic? Saying that comment to teammates is one thing, but announcing it to the press? Pretty stupid. How long is he going to be suspended though? 10 games?

  1. What is the big deal? Don’t act like a whore and no one will call you one.

He’s ugly inside and out. If you date him, you get what you deserve.

  2. This should have been left to the Stars to deal with. Not the league. If his suspension is more than 3 games, then it should be paifully obvious that the NHL cares more about it’s image than player safety. Kudos to Mr. Gary Dickman on making Sean Avery news again.

  3. I think Bettman needs Sean Avery. The Bruins are hot in Boston now (at least in my eyes), but if you’re in an NHL city with a losing team, chances are that you’re not caring unless you’re a huge hockey fan.

I agree though, a suspension of more than three games would be ridiculous.

  4. […] Hailing from the same town of fellow fan Tom Glavine, this actor/comedian has not found success on the baseball diamond, but instead in a small Scranton, Pennsylvania-based sales office. When he’s not peddling paper products, he can be found playing goalie for a Los Angeles-based men’s hockey league team, showcasing some of the same skills found here. The Golden Globe winner also maintains a house in Marshfield, Massachusetts, a much easier place to cheer for his beloved Bruins. If you ever have the opportunity to catch a game with Carell, be wary of the many sexual innuendos hockey entails (”So-and-so tries to ram it home”, “So-and-so pulls it out, but loses it”) and the “That’s what she said” quotes which are sure to follow. That is unless, of course, you’re with Sean Avery because he takes all the fun out of it and calls it like it is. […]
