Patriots Select Oregon Safety Patrick Chung with 34th Pick

The Patriots addressed the secondary and special teams with one pick by taking Chung, a senior, with the second round’s second selection. This will be the first of fours second rounders the Patriots may have. This was the Chiefs pick and they also have the Packers, Chargers, and their own selection. Chung was a First All-Pac 10 player this season and runs a 4.54 40, the most overhyped number that scouts and teams love.

Chung had nine interceptions in four years with Oregon, including one last season for the Ducks, which he returned for a touchdown. He also had two sacks and forced one fumble. The Pac-10 Conference is known for vertical passing games and plenty of offense, including pro-style, so he will should be prepared to face NFL offenses.
