|Black and Gold Bruins Turn Yellow On Parade Day||Inconsistency Will Continue For Bruins Unless A Change Is Made||Five Bruins Prospects in 2017 World Junior Championship||Bruins Quick Hits|
The regular season is over, except for the notable Army-Navy game. All of the conferences have crowned their winners: Georgia Tech (ACC), Cincinnati (Big East), and Oregon (Pac-10) to name a few. The Sports of Boston pollsters unanimously named the SEC winner, Alabama, and Big 12 winner, Texas, as our BCS National Championship finalists. In an odd season, five teams finished undefeated (TCU, Cincinnati, and Boise State in addition to Alabama and Texas), but only one team finished with one loss, and that was Florida, losing to Alabama last weekend. This week features our first change of #1 teams with Alabama finally topping Florida with their win.
Pollsters are SoB’s Andrew, Erikk, KC, and Mike and comments were gathered with the votes. The ballots are available.
|1||Alabama (4)||40||2||Erikk says, ‘An amazingly sound victory against the nation’s best defense in the SEC Championship has sent the Crimson Tide to the BCS Championship game. Is there a better team in the country? Not right now.’|
|2||Texas||36||3||KC says, ‘A game-winning FG from longer than 40 yards to beat Nebraska? Just wow.’|
|3||TCU||30||4||Mike says, ‘TCU has to be content with just missing the National Championship game, but they make a BCS bowl and do not have to prove themselves.’|
|4||Cincinnati||28||5||Erikk says, ‘A come from behind victory over the Panthers in Pittsburgh in the de facto Big East Championship game kept the Bearcats’ undefeated season and BCS bowl bid intact.’|
|5||Florida||24||1||Mike says, ‘Tim Tebow will have to be content with finishing his career in the Sugar Bowl, not the BCS Bowl.’|
|6||Boise State||21||6||KC says, ‘Win over Oregon looks GREAT right now.’|
|7||Oregon||17||7||Mike says, ‘Oregon won great Civil War battle to return to the Rose Bowl.’|
|8||Georgia Tech||10||9||Erikk says, ‘The ACC-champion Yellow Jackets are looking forward to their first ever BCS bowl after finishing an 11-2 season with a 39-34 win over Clemson.’|
|9||Ohio State||9||8||Mike says, ‘They fell to the Pac-10 favorite (USC), but get a chance for redemption against the Pac-10 Champion, Oregon.’|
|10||Iowa||4||10||Erikk says, ‘After a great season, the Hawkeyes’ were rewarded with a BCS Bowl (Orange).’|
