Jerry Remy Takes Leave from NESN after Son Jared Remy Charged with Murder

Jerry Remy was not in the NESN booth on Friday night against the Yankees, hours after his son, Jared Remy, was charged with murdering his girlfriend.

Jared Remy pleaded not guilty at his arraignment for the stabbing death of Jennifer Martel. Jerry Remy did not attend his son’s arraignment.

NESN announced that Remy will miss all of this weekend’s games and the six west coast games next week.

NESN said that Remy hopefully will return to the booth before the season ends.

In the meantime, Dennis Eckersley is filling in for the Rem-Dawg.
