Thief Stole Aaron Hernandez’s Jail ID Badge

Aaron Hernandez

Looks like Aaron Hernandez has fans everywhere, including jail. TMZSports reports a fellow inmate of Hernandez’s was caught stealing Hernandez’s medical ID badge and trying to keep it as a memento.

The bizarre incident occurred back in June when Hernandez was in the medical wing shortly after his arrest in June for first-degree murder. One of his inmates thought it would be a clever idea to steal the former NFL star’s ID badge and keep it as some kind of souvenir (not really sure what kind of souvenir an ID of an accused murderer is).

The thing is, the inmate probably did not consider his whole plan through because even though he actually got his hands on the cherished badge, another inmate witnessed the whole thing and snitched on him! Needless to say, the inmate never made it out the medical building with the badge. The thief was reprimanded and Hernandez was reunited with his ID badge.

Hernandez does not have to worry about anyone trying to steal his identity in jail anymore. Instead, he can go back to worrying about how he is going to convince a jury of his innocence on his murder and weapons charges.
