Video: Rondo Honors Red Sox with Fake Beard for Celtics Home Opener

When the Boston Celtics opened the 2013-14 NBA season at home on Friday night, injured All-Star point guard Rajon Rondo honored his baseball counterparts, the 2013 World Series champion Red Sox, with a glorious fake beard hooked around his ears. Addressing the crowd before tipoff, Rondo stepped onto center court to say a few words to the home crowd — not one of which acknowledged the Mike Napoli-look-alike strapped to his chin. (He did, however, manage to keep his shirt on.)

Unfortunately for the Celtics, though, they’re still winless, and I don’t think the magical powers of the Red Sox facial hair are going to make any difference for Boston’s basketball team…
